Mysuru: Hundreds of Dalit activists gheraoed writer Chandrasekhar Patil (Champa) in Mysuru on Saturday for opposing the state government’s decision to convert 1,000 Kannada medium government schools into English medium schools.

Champa was in Mysuru City to attend an event.

Agitators urged Champa to clarify his stand on the issue. They also shouted slogans stating that Champa is anti-Dalit.

The police who rushed to the spot escorted Champa safely to the event venue.
