Mandya: On Thursday, October 28, the water level at Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) Dam in Mandya District reached the brim, causing excess water to be released from the reservoir’s crest gates.

The dam’s water level was 124.8 feet, which is also the reservoir’s capacity. On Thursday, 6,576 cusecs of water was released from the reservoir, while the dam recorded inflow of 6,883 cusecs.

The inflow to the reservoir has spiked in recent weeks due to unseasonal showers in Karnataka, as a result of a low-pressure formation in the sea.

According to the sources, next week, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai is set to offer bagina to the river at the KRS Dam.
