Mandya: It seems like Mandya is slowly moving out of the JDS’ hand. In a shocking incident, the convoy of the JDS-Congress alliance candidate, Nikhil Kumaraswamy, son of Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, was attacked in a remote village under the K R Pet police station limits.

According to police sources, Nikhil’s convoy was attacked in Somanahalli village. A car belonging to Nikhil’s supporter, Jagadish, was damaged during the stone pelting.

Eyewitnesses said that a gang of ten persons attacked the convoy. Police detained two persons in connection with the incident.

According to the JDS leaders, Nikhil is facing a “Go back Nikhil” movement in all the villages. “For the first time, the JDS is facing such a situation in this Vokkaliga strong belt,” explained a leader.
