Mandya: Following torrential rains in the District from Monday August 2, normal life has been thrown out of gear as several roads were damaged, trees were uprooted, tanks were burst, and crops were inundated.
According to sources, people could not access the busy Bengaluru – Mysuru highway.
The national highway at Hale Budanur in the District was flooded as a result of the tank breach, forcing travellers to use KM Doddi and Malavalli to travel to Bengaluru or Mysuru.
Mysuru too experienced heavy downpours that disrupted daily life. As a result, authorities diverted traffic on the ring road between Bogadi and Rajarajeshwari Nagar since the Bogadi tank was overflowing.
