Mandya: The office-bearers of the Taluk Gram Panchayat Members’ Union staged a massive protest against the delay in discharging duties under the Panchayat Raj Act and also as per the Government circular.

Hundreds of Gram Panchayat members and MGNREGA workers gathered near the tourist temple in the town and raised slogans against the Government, Zilla Panchayat and Taluk officials.

The protest, which started near the Taluk Panchayat office, continued till 6.00 pm. The protesters lashed out at the officials.
