Mandya: An alleged political rivalry cost the life of a 32 year old JD(S) worker on New Year eve. The deceased was attacked by five men while he was celebrating New Year with his friends.

Harish alias Gunda (32) was the son of Rajegowda of KR Pet Taluk. This murder is the fourth of it’s kind to happen over the past ten days. Three other JD(S) workers were attacked earlier by different gangs.

A mob then set aflame the house of earlier attackers of JD(S) workers, Rakshith and Yogesh. Security was tightened at the village to avoid further aggressions. South Range IDP Bijay Kumar Singh and Mandya SP Ravi Channannavar came to the spot along with other police members.

A relative of Harish alleged that the murder was done by Congress leader.

JD(S) workers Kumar of Benamanahalli in Malavalli taluk, Nandeesh and Muthuraj of Thopanahalli in Maddur taluk were murdered earlier this yearere allegedly murdered over political enmity.
