Mysuru: Management students must understand the needs of the country and develop the skills to meet them, said Muthu Kumar, President and Whole Time Director, Automotive Axles Limited, Mysuru.
Speaking after inaugurating a national level management competition “Management Innovation for Excellence, MANNOVEX -17” at JSS Centre for Management Studies (JSS CMS), organised by its Department of Management Studies, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering (SJCE) and JSS Science and Technology University, Mysuru, he added that students must take the initiatives like Make in India, Skill India and Digital India to take leverage for progress of themselves and country. He also mentioned in his talk that students must upgrade their learning, build their attitudes and commitment to set goals for the successful accomplishment of the employable skills.
B G Sangameshwara, Vice Chancellor, JSS Science and Technology University, during his presidential address emphasised that students were required to understand the contemporary practices and learning should take care of updates happening in the corporate world. He also added that these kind of competitions would help the students to get new ideas to initiate innovative business plans and start-ups. He also addressed the need of innovations in management science. Further, he laid onus on the need to upgrade the managerial and analytical skills through regular interactions with the practitioners.
The event is inter collegiate national level management festival for the post graduate management students. The MANNOVEX-17 is the 10th edition of national level management competition and with the theme “AVISHKAR – Make in India”. The event is conceptualised by the students of JSS CMS and provides a platform for the pupil to showcase their managerial skills. It is an opportunity that allows interaction and exchange of management concepts and ideas. Participants will showcase their Managerial, Analytical and Strategic Acumen in the competitive environment. Student teams from various management colleges and universities are participating in this management event.
