Man attempts suicide at Police Commissioner’s office

Mysuru: Unable to cope with financial stress, a 33-year-old man allegedly tried to commit suicide by consuming poison at the office of Police Commissioner on Saturday evening, September 17.

The man has been identified as Guru, an auto driver and a resident of Sunnadakeri. During the investigation it came to light that he took the extreme step due to pressure and threats from moneylender Lokesh who had lent him Rs 1 lakh loan with 6 per cent interest.

Soon after coming to know about the incident, he was rushed to K R hospital. According to sources at the hospital, Guru is said to be out of danger but will be kept under medical observation for three days. Nazarbad Police have registered a case and are investigating.
