Newskarnataka – Kollegala

Kollegala:  The rural police here have arrested a man who had escaped after killing his younger brother over a domestic dispute.

The accused is Maadesha, son of Puttabuddi Nayaka of Kotebeedi in Sattegala village.  It is learnt, he had killed his elder brother Rajesh (26) on June 1 by  slitting his throat using a liquor bottle. It is said a clash between the brothers over a dispute culminated in the murder.

It was only a day later that Jyothi, the wife of the deceased lodged a complaint with the police alleging that her brother-in-law had killed her husband.

He was arrested almost six days later at Mullur-Kaliyoor after the police received definite information regarding his whereabouts.

It is learnt, during Maadesha has confessed his guilt and said he attacked his brother with a beer bottle after the latter intervened  in an altercation between him (Maadesha) and his parents. Maadesha said if he had pressurised his parents to bring back  his wife who was in her parental home, Rajesh had instructed Maadesha to himself   do that work.
