Madikeri: The bundh politics show seems to be making it’s presence felt in a big way in Karnataka.
State BJP President B S Yeddyurappa warned a limited-bundh during the visit of Congress President Rahul Gandhi, demanding him to declare his stand on Mahadayi water dispute.
Speaking at a Parivarthana Yathre rally, here, BSY said that Rahul Gandhi is mum about Mahadayi dispute, while Siddaramaiah is playing politics instead of solving the issue. So, the bundh call would be given in a limited region, where Rahul Gandhi would visit.
“CM Siddaramaiah indirectly supports the state-wide bundh call on Thursday. He has used several organizations as weapons to make the Mysuru BJP conference a failure. As per the schedule, Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Bengaluru on February 4 and bundh call has been given even on that day. As a National party, even BJP knows to play politics, we will show it when the time comes,” he warned.
Meanwhile, Yeddyurappa alleged an estimated Rs. 5,800 crore misappropriation in sand import from Malaysia and demanded CBI inquiry into the same. The government didn’t follow the tender policy and the responsibility of transporting sand has been given to a bogus company. Tamil Nadu pays Rs. 925 for each tone of sand, while the state paid Rs.2,300. Siddaramaiah wants to loot the state as the election is nearing, he said.
