Madikeri: Ponnampete Taluk Horata Samiti has met former prime minister HD Devegowda and handed over a memorandum to him, requesting him to ensure the formation of Ponnampete taluk at the earliest.

A delegation led by JD(S) leader Mangera Padmini Ponnappa met the former PM at his Padmanabhanagar residence in Bengaluru and kept forth the request.

Devegowda, who responded positively to the request has said that he will support the demand for taluk-tag for Ponnampete and added that Kushalnagar too will be made a taluk soon.
