Madikeri: The Virajpet Town Police arrested a person who was selling marijuana in Meenupete area of Virajpet on August 1.

Police said they had received credible information that ganja was being sold at a cemetery in Meenupete. Acting on this tip-off, they launched an operation to nab the culprits.

Police confiscated 1.150 kg of ganja from the accused Mohammad Ali. He is a resident of Ittiri in Kerala. The estimated value of the contraband is Rs 25,000.

The accused has been remanded to police custody.
