Madikeri: Diddalli will run into its Phase II of protest demanding sites for the distressed tribals.

The protest which will commence on February 13 will be held to press on the government to rehabilitate the tribals in the land where there were evicted by the forest officials.
However, as precautionary measures, the district administration has imposed prohibitory orders in Diddalli, Chennangi and Maldare GP limits.
The Section 144 has been imposed from 6 am on February 12 to 6 pm on February 15. With rumours of outsiders trying to instigate the local tribals making rounds, care has also been taken to restrict entry of outsiders in to these villages.
It is said that over the last several months the migrant population has shot up in the reserved forest areas and noticing the trend, the forest officials had pulled down some illegal hutments.
A total of 181 families in Guddehosuru, Basavanahalli, 176 families of Kedamulluru of Virajpet, 171 families of Rampura area have been given land. However, as per sources invisible hands have been working behind the protests and a revolt has been scheduled for February 13.
A meet has been organised by A K Subbaiah, Sirimane Nagaraju and other on February 13 at Diddalli. Senior freedom fighter A Doreswamy is expected to take part in the meet.
Following this an all-night protest will be held on February 14 outside the DC’s offce. Over 1000 people are expected to take part in the protest.
