Madikeri: The district administration has completed all necessary preparations for the annual Cauvery Tula Sankramana event set to take place at 1:27 am on Tuesday at Tala Cauvery, the birthplace of the Cauvery River. Special rituals and arrangements have been ongoing at Talakaveri and Bhagamandala since September 27th. District In-charge Minister Bosaraju conducted a visit to review the arrangements, which included a special pooja at the Bhagandeshwara temple in Bhagamandala, marking the commencement of the traditional lighting of the Nanda Deepa lamp, which will continue to burn for the next month.
This year’s festival is scheduled late at night, and both the district administration and the government have been diligently working to ensure all necessary preparations are in place for the smooth execution of the Teerthodhbhava. Minister N.S. Bosaraju expressed confidence in the event’s successful execution and reviewed preparations at the Bhagandeshwar Temple and Talacauvery shrines.
Preparations are in full swing at Bhagamandala and the Talacauvery temples in anticipation of the holy Teerthodhbhava celebration. During the inspection, Minister Bosaraju was accompanied by Virajpet MLA A.S. Ponnanna. Deputy Commissioner Venkat Raja provided the minister with an overview of the stage construction for cultural and religious programs, the placement of barricades for devotee convenience, and other necessary arrangements to ensure a seamless and spiritually enriching experience for all devotees.
The minister assured that proper facilities and arrangements, including food distribution, medical assistance, and ambulance services, will be made available to ensure the safety and comfort of the devotees. A significant police presence, led by the Superintendent of Police (SP), one Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), two Deputy Superintendents, nine Inspectors, 15 Sub-Inspectors, 30 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, 350 head constables, and other police personnel, including Home Guards, will provide security for the event.
KSRTC Depot Manager Mehbooba Ali announced that additional buses will be deployed on the Madikeri-Talacauvery routes to meet the transportation needs of the devotees. It is anticipated that nearly 50,000 people will witness the Teerthodhbhava, with devotees coming from various districts, including Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to visit the shrine.
