Madikeri: Kodagu district in-charge minister S R Mahesh turned out to be a good Samaritan for an injured deer lying by the roadside near Anekkadu close to Kushalnagar in the Kodagu district.

The minister, while travelling towards Madikeri along this route, happened to spot the deer which had probably been hit by a vehicle. He immediately asked his driver to stop the car and rushed to the deer’s aid. He fed it some water and stayed by its side till the arrival of the forest officials.

The injured deer was then shifted to the Cauvery Wildlife Sanctuary for treatment. Somwarpet assistant forest conservator MS Chennamappa informed that the deer is presently in recovery.
