Madikeri: In a coffee estate near Chiklihole, illegally cut and stored rosewood and silver oak trees worth Rs 2 Lakh were unearthed by the district crime branch. A case was registered in Shuntikoppa police station and the timber seized.

The crime branch conducted the raids following a tip-off. The crime branch is investigating to find out if the estate owners are also hand-in-glove with the tree poachers.
