Madikeri: After a few days of lull, the rain returned to the flood-hit Kodagu district on Monday. Heavy rainfall was reported across the district.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) data, the district received 32mm rainfall on Monday.

“Heavy rain reported even in the night. This heavy rainfall may affect the relief works,” said police.

Heavy rainfall was reported in Madikeri, Suntikoppa, Mekeri and surrounding areas. The inflow of river Cauvery has increased substantially in Bhagamandala.

According to the IMD forecast, the district will have a cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers for the next 24 hours.
