Madikeri: Ballistic experts  from forensic science lab in Bengaluru have confirmed shooting inside DySP Ganapathi’s room prior to his suicide. Police had ruled out such possibility in their preliminary investigations.
A team of experts led by Ravindranath conducted  investigation inside room no 315 of Vinayak lodge in Madikeri town at 9.30am in the morning of July 10. The investigation lasted for more than 2 hours and the evidence collected by the team confirms shooting inside the room.

Talking to media after the investigation Ravindrantha said, it is not possible to reveal details pertaining to the number of rounds fired. Their job is to find the type of gun /pistol/ revolver employed and distance from which the gun shots were fired. Their main responsibility lies in finding the exact gun/pistol/revolver used in the shooting.

He said, the team will submit the report to CID with a week’s time.
