Madikeri: Police finally registered FIR against Bengaluru Development Minister George, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) A.M. Prasad and Lokayukta Inspector General of Police Pronab Mohanty on Tuesday, July 19.

According to sources, the FIR registered by police bears the number 89/2016 in which George is named accused number 1, Mohanty and Prasad are accused number 2 and 3 respectively.
A large number of residents were protesting in front of Madikeri police station for the delay in registering the FIR.
A lot of hue and cry over the issue took place in the last few days. Assembly proceedings were stalled and overnight strikes by the Opposition in the Assembly took place demanding the resignation of George. George resigned on Monday, July 18.
Ganapathi, 51, was found hanging by a rope to the ceiling fan in the lodge room on July 7 hours after he gave an interview to a local news channel, accusing former state Home Minister K.J. George and two IPS officers of harassing him and that they would be responsible should anything happen to him.
