Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria inaugurates War Memorial at Sainik School Kodagu

Madikeri: Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, visited Sainik School Kodagu and inaugurated ‘War Memorial’ and ‘Wall of Heroes’. The memorial comprises graphic panels, stone murals and an inverted bayonet with a helmet structure. The ‘Wall of Heroes’ depicts details of all the 21 Param Veer Chakra awardees and pays homage to their spirit of patriotism, courage and gallantry acts in the face of enemy. This memorial would help in creating nationalistic impressions in the minds of young cadets and motivating them to join the Defence Forces.

Retd. Air Marshal KC Nanda Cariappa, PVSM VM, was the Guest of Honour. He applauded and appreciated the school for its significant growth in a short period. He also acknowledged the wholehearted efforts of the staff in motivating cadets to join Indian armed forces.

After dedicating the memorial, the Chief Guest Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria addressed the staff and cadets of Sainik School Kodagu. He called upon all the cadets to make best use of the excellent training facilities available in the school to achieve high standards of knowledge, physical fitness and mental toughness. He also exhorted the cadets to imbibe the crucial qualities of integrity, honesty and courage. While complimenting the Principal and Staff for achieving high standards of training, he encouraged all cadets to strive for armed forces as a career.
