Mysuru: Love, they say is blind. True to this adage, a 24-year-old girl tied the knot with a 19-year-old youth in Mysuru.
The Indian Constitution has set the age limit for marriage at 21 years for boys and 18 years for girls. However, in this wedding that was solemnised on Monday at Mandi Mohalla, the girl is in the age limits of marriage, but the bridegroom, who is five years younger to her is still not eligible to tie the knot.
The bride and groom, both residents of Mandi Mohalla had secretly entered into a wedlock at Sathyanarayana Temple on Sayajirao Road as they were sure that their families would never agree for the same.
When the family of the boy came to know of the development, they promptly went to the police station and registered their objection to the marriage. The parents have pleaded before the police to make sure that their son returns home breaking the “illegal” tie.
As of now, the neighbourhood is waiting with bated breath for the climax.
