Mysuru: The Lokayukta sleuths led by SP Narayana raided the house of the Assistant Director of the Department of Kannada and Culture K.N. Anne Gowda on Friday June 12, early morning.
The Lokayukta sleuths who arrived at the residence of Anne Gowda at A.G. Complex, opposite RMP Quarters in Kuvempunagar at 5 am, seized some incriminating documents.
Anne Gowda, who is posted in Mandya, was also the in-charge Assistant Director of the Department in Chamarajanagar and Mysuru districts.
The raid was conducted following complaints against Anne Gowda, accusing him of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known source of income.
Anne Gowda, on May 5 had celebrated his son’s marriage at Lalitha Mahal Palace Hotel with an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) Officer, who is serving as an Assistant Commissioner in the Department of Income Tax.
It is also said that Anne Gowda has rented out commercial shops in the complex. The Lokayukta sleuths are verifying the documents, bank accounts, gold and silver ornaments seized at his residence. The raid was conducted by Lokayukta Dy SP, two Inspectors, three Sub-Inspectors and staff.
Lokayukta sleuths simultaneously conducted raids at eight places in five districts of the State including Mysuru.
