Mysuru: The KSOU has finally decided to comply with all the norms of the UGC and the Higher Education Department in the wake of UGC derecognising the Open University’s courses for flouting rules.

A meeting of the Board of Management (BoM) of the KSOU, recently, unanimously took a decision to this effect.
Earlier, KSOU VC Prof. M.G. Krishnan had said the University has nothing to do with the UGC as it does not give it funds.
The meeting decided to apply to the UGC for recognition of its courses with retrospective effect from 2012-13. A KSOU delegation led by Registrar P.S. Naik will leave for Delhi on Monday to seek UGC recognition.
The BoM meeting chaired by Prof. Krishnan also decided to adhere to the UGC policy on territorial jurisdiction; To stop admission of students at its non-Karnataka centres and discontinue affiliation to collaborative Institutions.
Mysore University VC Prof. K.S. Rangappa, who is also the ex-VC of KSOU, members Sandesh Nagaraj, G. Madhusudhan and Aswathnarayan, Registrar P.S. Naik, Academic Dean Prof. Devegowda and others attended the meeting.
