Kripa Phadke performs “Madagada Kenchavva” for 140th time

Mysuru: Art takes you to the higher level in terms of an education said Kripa Phadke who was felicitated by Sri Sri Someshwaranatha Swamiji at BGS Vidyapeetha for her contribution to the art.

Kripa Phadke performed the folk dance “Madagada Kenchavva” for the 140th time on stage. She has performed the particular folk dance across India and delivered a great response from the audience.

The dance narrates a story about the Kenchavva who sacrifices her life for the village when drought hits the village and Goddess of Ganga asks the life of Kenchavva for staying back in the village.

Speaking to the gathering Kripa Phadke thanked audience for supporting the art and this folk dance has been continuing from past 25 years and also said the team members are pursuing Engineering, Medical, MBA but still engage themselves in performing this art.

Kripa Phadke is presently working in Gaana Bharathi as Secretary and runs a Dance Institute ‘Nrutyagiri. She was the student of Natyacharya Kamalakshachar, Karnataka Kala Tilaka Muralidhrar Rao, V Nanjundaswamy and Guru Vidushi Dr Rukmini and she has been awarded by many organizations for her contribution to art.
