Wild elephant electrocuted at Hosakadu, Kodagu

Kodagu: A wild elephant was electrocuted at Hosakadu near Athur Nallur in the late night of Wednesday July 28.

It is said that the elephant had come in search of fodder from Athur Reserve Forest. Further, the preliminary reports state that the elephant came in contact with a livewire illegally used to fence a paddy field and thus faced electrocution.

The Kushalnagar forest officials rushed to the spot and are now conducting investigation.
