Kodagu: The District has been receiving good rainfall since last 48 hours. The rains receded from morning of Sunday July 3 but many villages were in dark as power supply was affected. More than 100 electricity poles fell off due to wind and rains.
Water level has increased in Triveni Sangama at Bhagamandala. The road connecting Bhagamandala and Napoklu was blocked by water and thus District Administration banned vehicle movement on the road.
In Ammathi, Madapura and Garagandur Villages trees fell and power supply was affected. In Galibeedu to second Monnangeri in Madikeri Taluk landslide was witnessed and hence traffic too was affected. Officials cleared the road soon using JCB.

The District Administration in association with Karnataka State Disaster Monitoring Committee (KSNDMC) have established a tremor measurement centre at Chembu Village in Madikeri Taluk. The villagers are in panic as they have experienced tremor 5 to 6 times already in past week. However, District Administration has clarified that the tremor is mild and recorded below 3 in Richter scale and that there is nothing to worry. An NDRF team has been camping in Kodagu to rescue people during emergency.
