Kodagu: A couple from Kushalnagar town in Kodagu district who were on a tour to Jammu and Kashmir is still missing.
The couple HP Madhu Shivakumar and Ashwini, were employed in Bangalore. Madhu is the son of H.S. Puttaraju and Susheela, residing in Kushalnagar town.
It is reported that owing to the floods, there is no mobile or landline connectivity and even if there is, there is no electricity to charge the mobile phone batteries.
They had flown to Srinagar from Delhi on September 6. Family sources said that the couple was staying at a hotel in Munirabad.
Kodagu District Superintendent of Police Varthika Katiyar told that all efforts are on to trace the couple and photos have been sent to Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Mysore couple rescued
On the other hand another couple from Yelwal, who were also reported “missing” as they are not in contact with the family members since the past few days, have been rescued by the Indian Army and dropped off to a helipad at Srinagar.
Raghavendra Prasad and Nandini had gone to Srinagar for honeymoon on September 6. They are reportedly stranded at a hotel called Grand Mumtaz, according to their friend Mahesh who got a call from them. As there was no mobile phone connectivity, they took help of the Army to call home and inform that they were safe will arrive at Bangalore in a couple of days by flight.
