Kodagu: A man was allegedly shot dead in Heggala village near Virajpet while on a hunting trip.

The deceased has been identified as Hamid (35) of Gundikere, who died of a gunshot wound. He and two others had gone into the forest for hunting wild game.

After the incident, his accomplices, Ashraf and Rafeeq, surrendered to the police.

A case has been filed in this regard at the Virajpet Police Station.
