Mysuru: The 10-day Dasara festival is barely two weeks away and the colours of Dasara is already catching up.
As a prelude to the historic festivity, a kite festival will be held at the Lalit Mahal helipad here on September 29 and 30, said district in-charge minister and Dasara executive committee head, G T Devegowda.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting with the executive committee members, he said over 50 professional kite flyers from Ahmedabad, Surat, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Mangaluru would take part in the two-day pre-Dasara event.
Workshops on kite making is also an important part of the event, he said adding that rock bands and food trucks will add a fun element to the event.
Meanwhile, a vintage car rally will be held on September 30 and October 1.
Talking about Dasara event, the minister said that a mini procession of Dasara elephants accompanied by folk artistes would be taken out on October 14 on the Mysuru palace- Bannimantap ground route.
Yuva Dasara, he said, will be held every evening from October 11 to 17 wherein many playback singers from Sandalwood and Bollywood would take part. The event will be held at the Maharaja’s College grounds.
