Mysore: The Dalit organizations continued their protest in Mysore and Chamarajanagar districts, for not giving prominence to Mallikarjun Karge who belonged to their community in appointing as Chief Minister.
The hundreds of activists of Dalit organizations and Ambedkar organizations in Kagalavady in Chamarajanagar staged protest urging Congress to give prominence to Mallikarjun Karge in appointing CM. The hundreds of activists gathered at city center in Kagalavady village and protested for 2 hours. The activists alleged that Dalit community which forms 23 percent of population has been sidelined. The protesters set alight the effigy of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
The activists of different Dalit organizations protested at Priyapattana, near here by tying black stripes against anti-Dalit policies of Congress for not appointing Dalit CM. The protesters held a rally from police circle and concluded at Bettadapura circle passing through B M Road. The traffic was hindered for a few hours on national highway. The protesters presented a memorandum to Sirastedar in the absence of Tahsildar at the taluk office.
