Mysuru: The much anticipated film ‘Kabali’, the 159th film of superstar Rajinikanth will be released on Friday across the country in 4000 theatres including 400 theatres in US. The tickets sold like hot cakes within few hours after they were issued across the country including Mysuru. Most of the theatre managers say that the demand for the tickets can’t be compared to any film including the recently much hyped ‘Bahubali’.

There are two multiplexes in Mysuru, one at BM Habitat Mall (DRC) in Jayalakshmipuram and another at Mall of Mysore (INOX). Each multiplex is having four screens and runs 16 shows every day. Apart from these multiplexes, Kabali is also screened at four threatres, Rajkamal, Sangam, Padma and Saraswathi. Tickets for the first day have been already been sold out and fans are demanding theatre and multiplex owners to start the first show as early as 3.45am instead of 6.45am.
K Chetan, Manager of Multiplex located at BM Habitat Mall said, “The tickets were issued on Monday and they got sold like hot cakes. It was an unprecedented turnout for the film. We have not seen such demand for any other film including Rajini’s last release Lingaa which was also screened in our Multiplex. Almost all tickets have been sold out till Sunday. There are four screens and 16 shows, the first show will start at 6.45am. The fans of Rajnikanth have planned various programs including distribution of sweets and huge cutouts. Though the ticket prize for other movies is Rs 170, for Kabali it is Rs 250. The fans demanded the first show to start at 3.45am, but we need permission from the Deputy Commissioner which is difficult in the last minute”. He also mentioned that people not only across the country, but also in foreign countries love Rajnikanth, not only for his style and acting but also for his simplicity, generosity and for his good heart. At a time, 270 people can be accommodated in each show.
Jayakumar of Multiplex set up at Mall of Mysuru (INOX) said, “We have four screens and Kabali will be screened in all the four screens. There will be 16 shows. The tickets for Friday are already sold out. We started giving tickets on Thursday at 9.30am. In just three hours, that is by 1pm the tickets were sold out”.
M Manasvin, an engineering student said, “I am very much eager to see the much hyped Rajinikanth movie ‘Kabali’. In fact, my uncle already managed to get few tickets for Friday morning show. In most of the Rajinikanth movies, one can come across different style and message”.
Tickets cost upto Rs 5000
Thalaiva starrer ‘Kabaali’ is creating waves on the eve of its release in the city and as per sources the tickets were sold in black for about Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000. Festive atmosphere prevails in the city as the day of release coincides with the third Friday of Aashad. It remains to be seen whether people will throng the theatres to see their favourite southern star. However, large numbers of youth are likely to gather around the theaters and are keen to watch Rajinikanth’s acting prowess.
Free breakfast and special pooja at Chamundi Hill Temple
N Mara, President of Mysuru City Rajinikanth Fans Association, who is working as a Pourakarmika at Agrahara said, “At Sangam theatre we have arranged breakfast for the fans. We will be preparing 50kg bath for fans and will break 101 coconuts. Apart from this we have planned to go to Chamundi Hill temple for the success of the movie and for good health for Rajini sir”. The diehard fan also managed to get more tickets for Rajinikant fans. He is fan of Rajinikanth for more than two decades. The fans have also come out with huge cutouts of Rajinikant.
