Mysuru: Soon after the news on Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa’s deteriorating health, following cardiac arrest on December 4 spread like wildfire, interstate bus-services operating from either side stopped plying.
After news agencies and television channels started flashing the news on her cardiac arrest, situation turned tense as thousands of her supporters thronged Apollo Hospital where she is undergoing treatment. As a precautionary measure bus services between Karnataka and Tamilnadu were stopped fearing violence which may result in stone pelting and burning of buses.

KSRTC operates around 109 buses daily including Multi axle, Airavat, Rajahamsa and red buses from Mysuru. Considering the tense situation buses have been stopped, said traffic controller in Mysuru.

At the other end, even Tamilnadu buses parked in the Mysuru bus-stand did not ply. TN operates around 39 services daily and passengers were seen struggling to reach their destination after bus services were stopped.

Meanwhile, there are reports emanating about vandals targeting KSRTC buses in Tamilnadu.
