Mysore : The old beauties Jawa, Yezdi bikes will vroom in the streets here on July 14.
One wonders in this jet set age, whether the oldies are running in city streets. Its true, because a group of bikers formed Mysore Jawa Friends Club, here in order to showcase their old beauties in the city roads. Jawa Day is being celebrated nationwide on any day of second week of July. Its being celebrated at Madikeri, Bangalore and Mysore in Karnataka. The craze for Jawa motorcycles is stronger in Mysore than rest of India, because they are manufactured here.
Models of bikes to take part:
The owners of Jawa Jetz, Yezdi Road King, Jawa 350, Yezdi Classic, Jawa CZ, Tween 350, and other motorcycles of Jawa maker will participate in the rally. These motorcycles are prize worthy and loved by its owner.
No spare parts available:
Since Jawa factory stopped manufacturing its motorcycles and its parts a few decades ago, its difficult to get spare parts of these old beauties. Even if one finds them, one has to pay exorbitant charges. Its available in a few there it will proceed to Highway roundabout and concluded at the maidan in near Bannimantapa.
When there were plenty of Jawa bikes, we did not realize its value. Now we know the worth and are organizing the rally out of love for these motorcycles. We have formed Mysore Jawa Friends Club this year to continue organizing the rally, said member Kizar Ahmed.
