Mysuru: Deputy Commissioner D Randeep said on Thursday that the ‘Jamboo Savari’ of the 406th edition of Mysuru Dasara will likely commence from Mysuru Palace at 2.16 pm on October 11, the last day of Dasara.
The DC informed that as the royal family members also celebrate private Dasara on the same day, the golden howdah will be handed over to the district administration at 2 pm. The Jamboo Savari will begin at 2.16 pm after pooja to ‘Nandi Dhwaja’ in front of the Mysuru Palace.
Arjuna, the elephant will carry the 750 kg golden howdah and will reach Bannimantap ground. The famous ‘torchlight parade’ will begin at at the Bannimantap Grounds, informed Randeep. The DC also said that the district administration has sent a letter to the Palace authorities, asking for the golden howdah.
“We will visit the Palace to extend an invitation to Pramoda Devi Wadiyar, widow of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, and other family members next week,” added Randeep.
