Mysuru: “Its bit late for the State Government to hand over the DK Ravi case to CBI ,” said, renowned critic and writer professor Aravinda Malagatti.

He was speaking in a discussion programme on ‘honest officers – administrative system – political parties’ which was combined with a condolence meet for late IAS officer D K Ravi organized by the Karnataka State Backward Class Forum here at the S P Bhat hall on Tuesday.

Speaking on the occasion he said, ” for the first three days after the death of Ravi, the protest that was carried out was honest and public had come out for a cause. It was issue based. Unfortunately later the issue was politicized and caste color was given to the protest . D K Ravi belongs to the country. There was no doubt about D K Ravi’s honesty it is why  the public made state government to bow it’s head.”

“There is a saying that a IAS/ KAS cadre official  is called as white elephant because they do not reach the depth of society. But D K Ravi’s efforts were in the opposite direction. He tried to plumb the depths, mingling with people, which made the issue stronger. Even today some of the politicians insist  officials to not to mingle with people which would affect their vote banks. It is necessary to impose a three years term in a single place. There is also groupism in in the working class,” he said.

Speaking on the occasion noted critic, professor Kalegowda Nagavara said, “India is still an undeveloped country and it doesn’t want to show it off. Recently central government banned India’s  daughter in which shows we are afraid to digest reality.”

State president of the forum K S Shivaramu, district convenor of Karnataka state dalit samiti Ningaraj Malladi, director of Karnataka state kuruba association J Gopi, chief secretary Shashidhar Sangapur, district president Dhoddundi Naganna, president of youth unit H Beerappa and many others were present.
