Mysuru: District Superintendent of Police (SP) has warned elements misusing his photograph and personal identity of action terming it as a criminal offence.

“It has come to my notice that many Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WhatsApp profiles have been created by some people using my name and photographs”, said SP and went on to add “it’s a criminal offence and legal action can be initiated against all those who do it.”

Many youth consider SP Ravi D Chennanavar a role model and try to emulate him on social media and that move has irked SP.

“I am a simple man doing my best for the people as expected by my service. I don’t want hype and exaggeration”, SP clarified.

However, he welcomed suggestions from the public to do his best.
