Mysuru: The Nazarbad Police have arrested a group of five, involved in yet another on-line IPL cricket betting racket operating in city on Friday April 24.
The five arrested have been identified as Mujahid, 40, a resident of Rajivnagar; Chinnu, 31, a resident of Kyatamaranahalli; S.K. Raghunandan, 33 and Ramesh Raj, 29, residents of Sadolalu Village, Mandya disrict and M. Mujeeb, 45, of Sathagalli in city.
According to the sources, the police raided a hotel located in their limits last night when the Delhi Daredevils-Mumbai Indians IPL match was going on and arrested the five who were allegedly involved in betting and recovered Rs. 22,740 in cash, six mobile phones, a television, a Set Top Box, an empty note book and paper chits from them.
The raid was carried out by Nazarbad Police Inspector K.C. Poovaiah, staff Anil K. Shankapal, Mahesh, H.V. Madhukesh and Kiran under the guidance of DCPs Vinayak Patil and M.M. Mahadevaiah and ACP Jaimaruti.
