Mysore :The commercial taxes department has maintained cordial relations with merchants and entrepreneurs since the past several years, said commercial taxes additional commissioner R Jagdish Prasad.
Jagdish Prasad was speaking during the interactive meet that was organied jointly by Mysore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and FKCC, Bangalore at Rotary auditorium located at J L Road, here on Friday October 25.
He further said that in the past the traders and entrepreneurs faced difficulty in filing their tax returns. The commercial taxes department has simplified the procedures by introducing e-sugama and e-suvega facilities which has contributed for higher collection of taxes, said Jagdish Prasad.
If the traders and entrepreneurs continue to use these customer-friendly services in filing their tax returns, the total collection of taxes would be increased to 21 percent, said Jagdish Prasad.
The commercial tax officers, who arrived here from 5 zones across the city, urged the traders and entrepreneurs to co-operate as the department has simplified the procedures and are always at their service.
The officers lauded the interactive meet attended by both officers, traders and merchants which would improve the relations.
MCCI president Sudhakar S Shetty said that the interactive meet was helpful in addressing the grievances of entrepreneurs. He also urged the state authorities to develop the infrastructure in industrial estates in 5 zones of Mysore and also provide state facilities for merchants and traders and contribute for industrial growth, stressed Shetty.
