Mysuru: Teresian Kabaddi Academy in association with Inner wheel Club of Rotary Central, Mysuru will be conducting inter-high school girls’ Kabbadi tournament at Teresian College premises on July 23.
Ekalavya awardee Anthony Moses, Physical Education Director of Teresian College said, “This is for the first time we are conducting Kabbadi tournament exclusively for high school girls. The main intention of conducting this tournament is to create more awareness and provide opportunity to promising Kabbadi players across the district. More than 15 schools are expected to take part in the competitions. The entry is free for the competition. The matches will commence at 9am”.
Teresian Kabadi Academy imparts free training for girls
The academy which was established six months back by Anthony Moses imparts free training to promising Kabbadi players. More than 30 girls who are studying in Class 8 and above are undergoing training in the academy. “To groom Kabbadi players for higher level, myself and senior Kabbadi player V Ravi Kumar will be imparting free training to girls. Within six months the girls are showing a lot of talent and they have got a bright future ahead. Let them join any college, our intention is to groom promising Kabbadi players in the city. Recently we had taken these girls to Pro Kabbadi competition which was held in Bengaluru,” said Moses.
