Mysuru: Unable to cope up  with the doctor’s conclusion that she can never have children and with her husband overreacting to the same, a young married woman ended her life by hanging herself on Wednesday, February 3 at Hinakal village here.

The deceased is Ranjitha (20). She was married off to her distant relative named Santhosh just nine-months-ago.

It is said that Ranjitha had been suffering from acute stomach pain ever since her marriage and on consulting doctors, she was told that she can never have children because of her thyroid condition.

It is believed that soon after this conclusion, Santhosh resorted to scolding and abusing Ranjitha.

While a case stands registered against Santhosh at Vijayanagar police station, a dialogue was held between two families on Tuesday evening so as to make sure that the dowry amount that was given to Santhosh during wedding could be returned to Ranjitha’s family.

However, Ranjitha killed herself on Wednesday morning.
