Indefinite hunger strike against ‘cheating’ by Green Buds

Mysore: Agents and members  who have alleged cheating by the Green Buds Agro Farm Investment Company have begun an indefinite  hunger strike in front of the DC office in the city on January 29, Wednesday.

Shivappa, an agent of the company who addressed the hundreds of protestors said thousands of members are  facing fears of being thrown to  streets as the company has not returned over Rs 70 crores  invested  by agents and customers. The Green Bud has over 72 branches across the state.

Shivappa said though the company’s MD  BL Ravindranath was arrested following a complaint at Nazarbad police station in the city, he  was released after a promise to  provide the maturity amount to customers within six months.  He said Ravindranath has failed to fulfil his promise and added the customers are now  venting their ire against agents following rumours that the MD had paid  the amount to the  agents.

Several agents of Green Bud namely KN Mahadevamma, Mahesh, Jagadish, HN Eshwar, Vinayaka, Shivamma, Dhanalakshmi, Dakshayini and others are taking part in the protest.
