Mysuru: A 60-year-old security guard was brutally murdered by an inebriated man in the Metagalli police station limits on Sunday. Based on CCTV footage, the man was arrested within an hour of the crime.
The incident occured in HDFC banK ATM near Metagalli road when Prime Minister Modi was in city on his two day visit.

The deceased is Sadananda(60) a guard at the said ATM, while the accused is Abhishek(27).

On Sunday, Abhishek had come to the ATM and asked the guard for a beedi.

After a while, he revisited the ATM and asked security guard to give him money for drinks. The same episode repeated at 3 am with drunk Abhishek again pestering the guard for money.

When the guard shunned him away, he barged into the ATM kiosk and tried to break open the machine. When Sadananda tried to stop him and then slapped the youth, raged Abhishekh attacked him and killed him.

Seeing guard in a pool of blood, he escaped from the spot.

Metagalli police, on receiving information, plunged into investigation and within an hour nabbed the culprit.
