Mysuru: Anil Kumar, owner of illegal paying guest house who had threatened Roopa, zonal commissioner when she was leading a raid on the venue was arrested by Saraswathipuram Police Station here on Friday.

On Thursday, Mysuru Corporation had raided and seized an illegal paying guest house near Kamakshi Hospital in Saraswathipuram. Roopa who led the raid was allegedly threatened by Anil Kumar who also tried to obstruct the staff in the course of their duty. After repeated complaints from the localities that the paying guest house illegally run at Saraswathipuram was creating nuisance in the vicinity, corporation authorities had seized the 23-room paying guest house accommodating nearly 60 students.

Roopa had lodged a complaint at Saraswathipuram Police Station following which Anil Kumar was arrested for threatening the government officials while on duty and obstructing them.
