Mysuru: In a glaring example of how education board plays with the lives of innocent students, an academically bright student was pushed into depression after the PU examination results showed that she had scored only 10 marks in History.

Arshiya Samreen, daughter of Abdul Khaleel from Rajeevnagar, student of Teresian College of Siddharthnagar could not believe her eyes when her revaluation showed that she had scored 85 marks in History and not 10 marks.

When the results were out, Arshiya, a commerce stream student of the college had bagged 80 in English, 91 in Hindi, 93 in Economics, 95 in commerce and 85 in accountancy. The news of she scoring 10 marks in History was so difficult for Arshiya to accept that she slipped into state of depression. Unable to see their child in the miserable plight, Arshiya’s parents convinced her to go for revaluation. With support from parents and encouragement from teachers’ Arshiya went in for revaluation and the move was worth it because the revaluation showed that Arshiya had scored 85 marks.
