I-Day celebrated with gaiety in Mysore

Mysore: District in-charge minister Srinivas Prasad said that many freedom fighters have sacrificed thier lives and we should respect the sacrifices made by them. He further said, Youth has responsibility to build a better nation for their future.

The minister was speaking after hoisting the national flag during the 68th independence Day celebrations here on Friday August 15, in the presence of Co-operation Minister Dr HS Mahadev Prasad, Mayor M N Rajeshwari Somu, Zilla Panchayat President Dr B Pushpa Amarnath, District Commissioner Dr M A Saleem were present.

An attractive parade held on the occasion was led by commander Vikram Amte Dy SP Mysore Sub Division.The Deputy Commander of the parade was Shylendra R P I CAR Mysore. Nearly 30 platoon participated in the parade.

Prizes were distributed to the police officers and other government officials who has done good work in various categories. Cultural program were presented by students of various schools and colleges from Mysore.

2nd Place NCC Navy – Yogashri

3rd Place NCC Air force – Shivashankar

1st Police Public School – Bharath Kumar

2nd Scouts  Boy – Rajendra Prasad

3rd Sevadal Girls – Sandhya
