Mysuru: Udayagiri police have arrested a high-tech mobile phone thief on Tuesday.

Suraj(25) hailing from Assam, who resides in NR Mohalla is the arrested. Another accused Zameer, who used to help Suraj is absconding. The police have recovered 15 mobiles, 2 tablets, 1 laptop, 1 miracle box, 2 fake seals worth Rs 6,05,000.

Suraj along with his small gang used to target places mostly crowded like markets, malls, theatres etc. After stealing mobile phones, the thieves used to complain to the concerned mobile companies thorugh their websites that their mobile I-Cloud has been locked and unlock the mobile by producing fake bills with fake seals.

Then they used to change the IMEI numbers with the help of miracle box and other technology and sell it to the customers.

Suraj was caught red-handed when he was trying to sell a stolen mobile phone.
