Mysuru: The difference of opinion between Mysuru district in-charge minister G T Deve Gowda and tourism minister S R Mahesh have now become a headache for the JDS leadership.

It all started with Gowda’s media interaction in Mysuru on Wednesday, where he accused his cabinet colleague Mahesh of interfering in Mysuru’s developments.

“He is close to Siddaramaiah, B S Yeddyurappa, CM HDK and all the leaders. He is the real JDS leader,” he stated.

Upset by GTD’s comments, S R Mahesh lodged a complaint against him with the party’s state leadership.

According to sources, Mahesh wants GTD to join the Congress’ campaign in Mysuru to ensure the victory of the alliance’s candidate C H Vijayashankar. But GTD is reluctant and wanted to support the BJP’s candidate, Pratap Simha. This has upset the alliance leaders.

If the sources are to be believed, former CM Siddaramaiah has already raised the issue with CM HDK. “This difference of opinion is the biggest threat to the alliance candidates in Mysuru, Mandya and Hassan,” said a Congress leader.
