Govt gives green signal to capture single-tusked killer elephant

Mysuru: The State government has given green signal to capture the singled-tusked elephant that has been creating havoc in Madikeri area.
The rogue elephant had trampled one person to death and has also been attacking coolie workers in coffee plantations in the region.

Considering the seriousness of the issue, the Forest Department had sought permission from the government to capture the tusker.

The operation to capture the rogue elephant will begin on March 25 with the help of tamed Dasara elephants like Arjun, Abhimanyu, Krishna, Harsha, Vikram and Prashanth.
