Mysuru: A 19-year-old girl who has gone missing since last three months is suspected to have been killed for honor.

Her lover Krishna lodged a complaint in this regard with the Sargur police. In his complaint, Krishna mentioned that he suspected the girls family of murdering her for honor on coming to know of their love.

According to Krishna, he was in love with the girl from Parvathipura in Nanjangud taluk. Since they belonged to different castes her family had objected to their love. Around three months back, the two were attacked by a gang including his girlfriend’s father while they were trying to elope and her family members forcefully separated her from Krishna. Since then she has gone missing giving rise to a suspicion that she may have been killed by her family members.

Krishna said that though he had registered a complaint with the police about the assault on them by the girl’s relatives three months back itself, no action had been taken by the police. On Saturday, Krishna filed a complaint suspecting honor killing.

Saragur Police who have taken the case seriously have taken the girls father and two others for interrogation. It is alleged that the girl’s father had told his relatives that he along support from few people killed his daughter since she was in love with a lower caste boy.
