Mysuru: In a case related to submitting false affidavit in the High Court of Karnataka by Minister for PWD H C Mahadevappa’s son Sunil Bose, the district court adjourned hearing to Aug 16th as the accused failed to appear in person in the court on August 4.

Case history

When Lokayukta police and officials of State Mines and Geology Department conducted a raid in 2010, Alphonsus, a scientist working in Geology department was caught red handed, accepting a bribe of Rs 1 lakh in the presence of Sunil Bose and his supporter Raju. Later the scientist had given a written statement to the police that it was due to enormous pressure from Sunil Bose that he ended up receiving the bribe amount.

When the Lokayukta police registered the FIR, Bose’s name was left out. However the complainant Basavaraju questioned that decision which was later changed by the local court which made Sunil Bose as the second accused and his supporter Raju as the third accused while retaining the name of Alphonsus, the first accused.

Sunil Bose approached the High court seeking acquittal in the case registered at the Mysuru district court where he expressed that the accused Raju was not known to him. He also conveyed that fictitious person Raju was included by the complainant to drag him into the case.

This apart, Sunil Bose had given a written statement on Raju’s behalf and to increase his woes both Bose and Raju are represented by the same advocate in the district court.

HC Mahadvappa’s son Sunil Bose’s statements misleading the court might work against him when the case comes up for hearing on August 16.
